Pasta Alla Vodka
Time: 30 min | Serves 6
This is the best vodka sauce—it's creamy but bright. The D'Agostino Spicy Pasta Sauce is so flavorful and fresh. To make sure that each piece of pasta is coated, we like to stir the pasta directly into the sauce while it's still in the skillet before adding the garnishes.
1 lb D’Agostino Fleur de Lis Pasta
1 jar D’Agostino Spicy Tomato
1 lb linked sweet Italian sausage
2 tbl EVOO
3 cloves of garlic, sliced
1 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
1/4 cup vodka
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated parmesan
1/4 cup of sliced basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Diced cherry tomatoes
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and preheat your grill. Start by adding the olive oil to a large skillet or dutch oven.
Once heated add the sliced garlic and stir periodically until browned. Add D’Agostino Spicy Tomato Sauce to the garlic and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and add crushed red pepper (optional) and vodka.
Put sausage on the grill and drop pasta and cook until al dente (about 5-7 minutes) while sauce is reducing. Before draining the pasta reserve up to a cup of pasta water if needed for thinning sauce at the end.
Once pasta and sausage are done add in the heavy cream and grated parmesan and stir to combine, add any salt and pepper to taste. Combine the pasta to coat and any reserve pasta water needed then gently stir in fresh basil saving a little for the garnish.
Garnish on plates and top with the sausage. Buon Appetito!
