White Bean Pesto Pasta

Easy White Bean Pesto Pasta

A vegetarian pesto alternative with Instant Pot white beans as the protein. Earthy flavors from the beans and pesto mix with the reminiscence of Italy with the artisan D'Agostino Pasta.


2 cups cooked Camellia Great Northern Beans, cooled

1 pkg D’Agostino Penne Pasta

1 cup prepared pesto sauce

Salt to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese


Cook beans prior to making – this Instant Pot recipe makes it easy. 

Prepare pasta in boiling salted water.  Drain and reserve 1 cup cooking liquid.

Place warm pasta in a large bowl.  Add pesto and mix well.  Add cooking liquid, 1 tablespoon at a time, to reach the desired consistency of a creamy sauce.

Add beans.  Toss gently, so beans remain intact.  Taste for seasoning and adjust if necessary.  Serve immediately with Parmesan, if desired.
